Finally getting around to updating Noah's info: Noah was diagnosed with Autism at the age of three and a half years of age. We knew something wasn't right and our Medical Doctor sent us to a local specialist and he was tested positive for Autism. Noah had open heart vsd @ one week of age and I stayed with him for over a month at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Was pretty scary!! He has a sister in heaven and we were so scared of losing him too!!! But he has made it and he is improving every day..he uses Pecs and gestures to communicate and is trying very hard to speak!!! He is now moving on to second grade, and even with all of his sick days this past year, he made the All-Year Honor Roll and got a Book Worm Award ( for paying attention to over 100 books read to him at home and school) He is in a newer and bigger school now, as they have more accomodations to fit his needs, plus a teacher who can give him the level of education that he needs, and also be with other kiddos on his very own learning level. So far it has been good. NOAH DOES HAVE HIS BEHAVIOR ISSUES AT HOME AND AT SCHOOL AS WELL, WONDERING IF THERE IS A THERAPIST ON HERE THAT I CAN ASK QUESTIONS TO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW THAT I CAN QUESTIONS, SOME I WOULD RATHER EMAIL ABOUT THAN POST THEM, LOL. I'VE BEEN ENJOYING AUTISM SPOTLIGHT AND THANKS FOR ACCEPTING US AS MEMBERS, NOAH AND HEIDI(MOM)
