A Colorful Group of People - my second autism awareness song

This is my second and probably best so far autism awareness song. I have also inspired much with items shared with me by Joanna Keating-Velascro who wrote booklet "A is for Autism, F is for Friend."

About Me

I currently work at a small manufacturer of cable harnesses and electronic pc boards. I am a seeker of a better job. I don't dislike this job, but pay not enough.

B day 9/22 Wedding Anniversary June 13,1987.

One of my songs is caught on YouTube by ArtMuse Records during an open mic project. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xYKohJTKNI You may have to cut and paste; I can't load up because the embedding code is disabled. They said they might give the code to me after completing project. This is a rendition of Vive La Compagne; partial parodied in concern over healthcare crisis in USA.

I am a musician/singer/songwriter; activist for affordable healthcare. Being on the spectrum I see the USA healthcare crisis from another angle. I also see the healthcare crisis from this angle; it is harder for me to have a living wage job; one that provides healthcare benefits (affordably). I have always had Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of autism; but didn't always know it. I knew I was different, but didn't always know what the heck it was. I am starting to write songs for autism awareness; some of it by the influence of singer/songwriter and painting artist Donna Williams. Donna Williams also has something on the spectrum. While all my songs to some degree are in a continual state of editing, I am about finished with my 3rd song for autism awareness, inspired of a lady with classic autism, and her boyfriend who is NT. As a musician I usually accompany myself with an electric acoustic guitar or piano (acoustic or electronic).

On January 2, 2008 I took a brave step at Meadowlark Coffee & Espresso here in Lincoln NE during their musicians open mic night. My turn came to come on stage, I went to their house piano. Tonight I will sing a song (did chord run in Ab) by the late Sammy Davis Junior. All my life I knew I was different, but didn't always know what the heck it was. I've coped the best I knew how, and much of my life I have managed it very well. Recent circumstances forced me to come to terms with it. I have Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of autism. I am autistic and not ashamed of it anymore. That is where I got my incredible compassion to become the healthcare for ALL Music Guru. But ultimately (started introduction in C) I've GOTTA BE ME! Than sang the Sammy Davis Jr classic, "I've Gotta Be Me."

My Old Friend Martin said "Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.

Hey. No I'm not the same Lauren. I do work with austistic children ages 3-4 in a pre-school. A family friend of mine has aspergers. Best of luck in your songwriting and spreading awareness.

Thanks for the welcome and for the advocacy with healthcare-very much appreciated!

I will go to utube and have a listen. Have you always liked music? My girl loves music. She surprised me at Christmas by standing in front of church with 4 other kids and singing. She was so into it! I could hear every word. I was once told to prepare for the fact she may not talk so needless to say there were lots of tears.

Life is not all that hard for us. She is our only chid so nothing to compare to. She perfectly normal to me.

Hey big John hows it going just got in from a little night on the town with my wife and went to a little bar that had some karoke and thought of you! Ive been so busy setting up some new sites for other clinics and all kinds of other stuff but just want to drop a quick line letting you know i was thinking about you and appreciate all the communication your generating on the site, which brings me to another thought.. I remember you said you were maybe looking for a job well, i have some ideas maybe you can help me out with, have you done sales? if not no worry because if you would be interested in taking a look at what i have. I know you would be great at it just because of your personality and integrity. Our company is not making much money yet so i couldn't give you any guarantees until we build it up. but if you didnt mind working on commission part time from home doing what you are already doing just a little different you maybe able to turn it into a full time career call me if you can over the weekend or email me your phone number and i'll call you or if its the same number you gave when you signed up just give me a time to call you thanks and have a great weekend JIm Putnam 843-424-5251
