As part of his IEP, they are doing an IQ test as well as testing him to see if he can be placed in advanced classes. The TEACCH center as well as the school is interested in knowing just how smart he is. They think he's brilliant, and yes, he plans to go to college. I will definitely keep this suggestion in mind. Thanks!

I am glad that your son is doing well. We had a few complications in that my son did not write by hand. So they put him in lower level class in High School with kids who were not very academic oriented. We also found after 9th grade that he was very low on his adaptive skills. First time we had this evaluated was after 9th grade. I would recommend this being done going into middle school and again going into high school. Because of his scores on this he gets SSI. Cammillia is your son planning on going to college? I would suggest taking the PSAT & the SAT with essay and put that testing prep into his IEP for 8th grade and on.

My son is 12 and he has aspergers syndrome. My son's school has been very cooperative with any requests that I've made and have been very accomodating with my son. They love him!

I would like to start with saying I had a gifted (by school standards) son. I now have a very bright you adult man Who still needs a bit of assistance.
How are old are your children & how are their schools working with you?
